Do Christmas Different

This Christmas we’d like to challenge you to do Christmas different and join with us in giving to those in need. If you’re anything like Jeff & I, there’s really not a lot that you NEED for Christmas. So, Jeff & I have decided to donate all of our Christmas “gifts” to a water well fund through See Your Impact who partners with World Vision. Instead of buying gifts this year, we are going to put all of our Christmas money toward a water well fund that will help out many people in a community. We’ve already talked to many of our friends and family this year and have asked that they not buy us gifts but donate the money they would have spent on us to this fund. We’ve also asked if it would be okay with us not buying them gifts as well and we would donate that money to this fund. People have been incredibly gracious and receptive of this idea. We will be giving less presents at Christmas this year so that we can spend that money on others.

In Northern Uganda, more than half of the residents drink water from unsafe sources. As a result, children get sick from parasites, and many die from diarrhea.
Divine Waters Uganda changes this for communities, by building borehole wells that provide a reliable source of water for as many as 20 families. Not only do the wells save lives, they also transform the community. Women no longer walk for hours to collect water, exposing themselves to malnutrition, back problems and anemia. And young girls are able to go to school.

For every $250 we raise, we can provide a transforming water source for 10 people in Northern Uganda. 100% of your gift will go towards providing a water well. You’ll also receive updates on just how your funding is being used to help save lives in Uganda. Please think about joining us this Christmas to give to a community to make their life better.

We’d like to challenge you to join with us and do Christmas different this year as well. Talk to the people you normally buy gifts for and ask if instead you can donate the money through this fund. Please pass this along to your friends and family. Every gift, no matter the size, will help us reach our goal and get us one step closer to bringing a water well to a community in need.
