They Have Names!
Tonight, on the way home from Red Robin, Case told me that he had names for his frogs. We've been asking him what he wanted to name them since we got them and he hasn't had any ideas. Tonight he proudly proclaimed that their names will be "Sandbox" and "Toothbrush." So, I guess that's their names!

They've Arrived
Well, our frogs arrived in the mail yesterday. Case was so excited. We took them out of the package and sat them on the table until Jeff got home. I figured this was a good father/son project to put the tank together. I also didn't really want to do it anyway in case there was a slight chance that I would have to touch the frogs.
Jeff proceeded to clean all the rocks and whatnot just like the instructions said. When it came time to catch the frogs (with a net) he got the first one and put it into the tank. He then went after the second one. He got it in the net and as he pulled it out of the bag, it jumped out of the net onto the kitchen table and directly in front of Case. He was not prepared for this and pushed his chair back and started to cry. "Daddy, get the frog. Get it, get it." The frog then jumped off the table onto the floor and by then Case was standing up in his chair very panicked. Mind you, these little frogs are about an inch long so they're hard to catch and hard to see. Jeff was down on the group and finally caught the little thing and got it safe and sound into the tank.
Needless to say, Case does not want these frogs in his room now. He's afraid that they'll jump out of their tank even though there's a lid on it. They are now out by Bob (our fish). Maybe we'll eventually get them moved into his room, but for now he has been traumatized by the one practically jumping onto him. :)

Found It
Thanks to my dear aunt Lisa, we found some frogs that are easy to take care of and affordable. They should arrive next week. She did all the research, I just had to pay. Thanks, Lisa!

Promises
I've been telling Case for the last few weeks that we would get a frog for him. He's been asking us to buy him a dog or a cat and we don't want any pets like that. I can't stand the hair, the mess and just the hassle of having to take care of a bigger pet like that. So, in exchange for a dog/cat, I told Case we'd get a frog. My aunt had these tiny little frogs awhile back and I thought it would be the perfect pet. Small container. He could watch them jump around. Jeff could clean the tank and feed them. Perfect.
We ventured out to the pet store this afternoon. Case has been home sick for the past 4 days and just needed to get out of the house. The first pet store had frogs but they were at least $25 just for the frog and much bigger than what my aunt had. So, we went to another store. We found small frogs for under $10 and then started looking for a starter kit for a home. Couldn't find anything so we asked a sales associate. He pointed to this $75, 3 foot by 2 foot tank and said that had everything we'd need. What? A 2 inch frog needed all that? Needless to say, we left without buying a frog. It was much more of an investment than I thought (clean their tank every other day, buy crickets on a weekly basis, use a heat lamp, etc.).
Case was rather disappointed, but we're still looking. My aunt had different frogs and these didn't require a heat lamp and a big tank. So, if you know where I can purchase these tiny little frogs that don't require a lot of equipment, let me know.
