A Brownie Mishap
Jeff & I were making a couple batches of brownies today after church because we are making dinner for a teen homeless shelter tonight. We had the KitchenAid out and were mixing away. Jeff pulled the beater up partway while it was still going to try to get some of the batter off without having to scrap it off. He then proceeded to turn the KitchenAid off, but accidentally turned it on full speed. Brownie batter flew all over the kitchen. I had it in my hair, all over my clothes, it was on the floor, on the walls, on the kitchen cupboards. All over. So while Jeff proceeded to clean it up, I went and changed my clothes. I came back into the kitchen and Jeff then apologized and gave me a hug. I felt something wet on my arm and asked if he had checked his clothing. We then discovered that he had brownie batter all over the front of his shirt and when he hugged me it transferred all over my clean clothes. Needless to say, we finally got everything cleaned up, changed clothes once again and now have brownies to take to the teens tonight!

Happy Birthday, Dido!
To celebrate Aunt Dido's birthday, Collin & family came to town and we went to Texas Roadhouse. There is never a dull moment when we all go out to eat. There were kids under the table, kids done eating before the food even came, and food everywhere. Despite all that, we enjoyed our night out and have pictures to share.
We failed to call ahead and had to wait for awhile outside. Dido and Carson.
Kyler can be very loving to his baby sister, Corinne.
I was stuck between the two little boys and had food all over my arms by the time we were done.
Corinne got ahold of the bread.
This is what happens when kids get bored.
And then they get scary.
And then they get silly.
Then you have to take them outside to entertain them while waiting for the check.
Then, it's time to go home and go to bed.Monday, September 7, 2009
Labor Day weekend
Some of us around this household lead a boring life, hence nothing to blog about. I will tell you that we had a great weekend in NE for Labor Day. We rented a UHaul and took our mattresses to my parents and brought home theirs. Why did we do this? Well, Jeff has a shaking leg (no, not shaking leg syndrome, but something else) and it keeps me awake for hours at night. Usually I kick him out of bed to the couch but that gets old after awhile. My parents have one of those beds where you can't feel the other person move so we thought we'd try that out. Plus, it was cheaper to rent a UHaul than to buy a new mattress.
We also spent an afternoon at my grandparents cabin and Case got to hang out with his cousins because they were spending the weekend there. All the little boys went fishing off the dock and Jeff said he was a nervous wreck the whole time. Case would walk and stumble and he was sure he would go over the side. However, there were no mishaps. We also had a surprise visit from Aunt Janelle and Uncle Jim and it was great to see them.
Here's some photos that I haven't yet had time to post.
