It Went Well

Well, the Bridal Expo went well...I think. It's hard to tell because no one actually sets up a registry then and there or schedules a bridal shower. I did, however, have someone set up a registry with me today and another girl emailed that she was interested in the near future. So, that's potentially two girls. My goal is to get at least 10.
I'm on the left. There were probably about 50 vendors there including another PC booth - of whom were not happy that they had competition! Most of the vendors were photographers so I'm glad that I didn't talk Collin into going. I talked to one photographer who said he wouldn't cover his costs and probably wouldn't return. Good for me to know. Hopefully I can in the long run.
And I have to hand it to Jeff. He did a great job acting like he knew what he was talking about. And he got lots of compliments from people for being such a supportive husband. Thanks, honey!

Big Weekend

This is a big weekend for me (and Jeff). First, the kids are going to Collin & Kate's for a night so we have one whole night to get uninterrupted sleep! That in itself is pretty exciting. Second, Sunday is my big bridal expo for the Pampered Chef. I signed up months ago and have spent quite a bit of money to have a booth and hand-outs that I'll need for hundreds of brides. Since I won't be working next year, I'd really like to pursue bridal registries because 1) Pampered Chef has great products to register for, 2) It's good money for me, 3) It's easy work.

So, I've been schooling Jeff in all the ways of Pampered Chef since he's going to be my helper at the expo. We've measured off my booth in the basement and set up a mock booth so that we were ready to go.

In the meantime, I'm offering 10% off any Pampered Chef purchases through the 31st of the month. Spring products have arrived so there are lots of new products to look at.

Email me your order: shannontpc@gmail.com
I'll adjust your order with the discount and get back to you on your total. Products can be shipped directly to you or to me.

Pampered Chef products are great for you, mother's day, birthday's, teacher appreciation week (our teacher's at daycare love getting gifts from our kids!), or even father's day. Have fun shopping!

No Go

Well, I didn't get the job. I told my mom that I didn't necessarily want it, but would have rather have rejected them than be rejected. I wasn't super thrilled with the location of the school and it being in the opposite direction of the kids' daycare. So, it looks like I'll be doing more Pampered Chef business and spending more time with my kids....

Which, after today doesn't sound so appealing. Case woke up during the night throwing up and did more of it today along with a fever. He was so sad because his cousin, Kye, was here to spend some time with us and Case did not feel like playing. Case eventually talked me in to taking them to Monkey Bizness this morning only to vomit on the way out the door. Better here than somewhere else I guess. Then, Siahna wouldn't sleep and screamed and screamed and finally broke into a fever this evening. At least I'm on spring break, but this was not my idea of how I wanted to spend it!

Love/Dislike

Things I love of late:
1) Sunday nights when Jeff cooks. This weekends menu: crab cheese wontons, sweet & sour soup, and main dish undecided. See why I like Sunday nights?
2) When Case says, "I love you this much" and he stretches out his arms as far as they'll go.
3) Hearing Siahna laugh.
4) My new iPhone.
5) CSAP week because I don't have to be to school until 10:45 and the kids have been sleeping past 7am.
6) Knowing how far Siahna has come and knowing her accomplishments are bigger than "normal" babies.
7) Fountain Diet Dr. Pepper.
8) 70 degree weather in March.
9) My grandma who sends me money for her "Just Because" club! She's so cute.
10) Being married (for almost 6 years) to the man that I've been in love with for 17 years. I was so madly in love with him in college that I would go over to his house just to clean his kitchen and wash his dishes so that I could spend time with him. And now, he's such a changed man that he actually cleans up after himself!

Things I dislike of late:
1) The thought of packing up my classroom.
2) Preparing for an interview.
3) The thought of giving up soda for Lent. I've never participated in Lent before and decided that this would be the year I do.
4) Being so far away from my closest girlfriends. Come visit, please!
5) Turning 35 this year...seems depressing.
6) Touching raw meat.
7) My backyard.
8) My master's class. On top of doing each assignment, my professor then sends me a 10-15 page article to comment on because he thinks I'll "find it of interest." Really? Haven't I already done enough and now you're giving me another assignment on top of all my other assignments?

Happenings of Late

*Siahna is getting a new therapist this week. JD must have gotten a new job or is moving on so we will start meeting with Jean Marie this week. My initial impression of her from the phone is that she's kind of flighty, but I'll try to keep an open mind.
*Siahna can support herself on all fours now and last night she started moving herself around in circles on the floor. Every "baby" step makes us so proud of her improvement. Maybe, just maybe, she'll be able to feed herself birthday cake at her 1st birthday party.
*I have a job interview at another middle school on the 18th. I didn't realize how much I hate interviewing until they called to set it up. I guess if I'm not offered the job, that's a clear sign that I should stay home, which I'm content with.
*I am participating in the Great Bridal Expo for Pampered Chef at the end of the month. Hundreds, or maybe thousands, of brides come to this event so I'm trying to get my name out there to get them to register with me or have me do a bridal shower with them. I was feeling pretty stressed about the whole thing, but yesterday we spent a good chunk of the day making a mock booth and designing everything and I feel much better about it all. I've been schooling Jeff on the benefits of PC since he'll be helping me at my booth. Thankfully, he's a willing sport. And, thanks to aunt Lisa for watching the kids!
*I am in the middle of my 5th (our of 12) master classes. That has added to my stress level on top of not having a job and the bridal expo. I'm half way done with it so I just need to keep booking through it.
*Case is Mr. Social these days attending play-dates and birthday parties. Saturday morning I took him to his friend Ian's house and on the drive Case said, "Mommy, my tummy is playing around...I'm so excited to go to Ian's." I think he had butterflies in his tummy. Super cute!

I think that's about all of our happenings right now. More to follow. :)

Picture Day

I know, I know...my brother did not take these pictures and I feel like a horrible sister. However, I've tried to set up something a couple times and it hasn't worked out on one of our ends. I've also been waiting for Siahna to start sitting so that has slowed up our picture taking. So, finally, last weekend we went to Portrait Innovations and had some family pictures taken. And let me say, Siahna would not crack a smile for anything. Go figure! We got one of her smiling and how lucky we were. The rest of the time she was fascinated by the lights and the flashes (or her toes)! Here are some favs.
