No Voice

There are some days when I wish I worked in a cubicle and didn't have to interact with anyone. Today is one of those days. Not because I don't like my job, but because my voice is gone. I'm not sick and haven't been yelling; I just don't have a voice. Teaching must be one of the hardest jobs to have when you can't speak. Kids are loud - they can't hear you. Kids ask a question - and you can't reply back unless it's absolutely silent in the room (yeah, like that ever happens). Kids are being naughty and you can't really say anything because they won't hear you anyway. Being voiceless takes away your power in the classroom. Maybe I should have stayed home.
