Creep-ey

Since I was home with Case all summer, I had a good opportunity to observe our neighbors on the block. Case and I would take a walk every morning and I learned who left for work at what time and which house they lived in. One house in particular interested me. It has dark, dark curtains pulled and are never opened. The porch light is always on. It has that look of being kept up but only to a certain extent. After a week or two of observing, I learned that a single male lives in the house. He drives a Jeep, is bald, and smokes every morning on his way to work. I've been interested in the house because I wonder why his curtains are always pulled. He kind of gives me the creeps. I've told Jeff many times that I feel like something is going on behind those curtains that is not okay. Maybe it's my imagination from reading books, but I've said before that I think he's keeping a hostage in there.

Well, last night Jeff, Case & I were out for a walk. I knew the guy was gone because I had seen him leave shortly before we left on our walk. As we walked by, I noticed Jeff got all tense and had this weird look on his face. I asked him what was wrong and at first all he could do was shiver. Then he said there was someone looking out the window of the house. What??? I told him the guy was gone and turned around but didn't see his car or anyone in the window. I asked Jeff to describe what he saw...he thought maybe it was a child. He just saw the face peeking out over the window sill. But, he said the face was weird. It was almost like a mask. The hairs on the back of his neck were standing up and he was weirded out.

I noticed on our walk home that it looked like there were finger/nose prints on the window right above the sill. It's so weird. We can't really call the police and say we saw a weird face. We have nothing to base our suspicions on other than our imaginations. So crazy but I still feel like something is going on in that house. I will keep my eye on it.

  1. I probably would have been better off NOT knowing about this house. Yeah, I just got the chills. It could be like "To Kill a Mockingbird." The Radley household has a weird person living in the house and it causes the children to be suspicious about what's going on. Read it and you'll see.
