Stolen!

Since I know Jeff doesn't read my blog, and I know Shiloh would never mention this to him, I feel the need to vent some frustration. I'll admit that I may nag at Jeff from time to time but it's for his own good. The thing I probably do the most is ask if he locked the car.

Yesterday, we had about 20 friends over for a Memorial Day BBQ. Jeff, being the good host that he is, set up our bouncy castle for the kids to play in. Since it's been raining for 4 days straight, he backed the car out from under the carport and set the castle up there so the kids could play and not get wet. After the BBQ, everything got put away except the car.

This morning when I left for school I noticed a bunch of lottery tickets strewn about the front seat and the consul between the two seats was open. Not thinking anything of it, I shut the consul and went on my way. Midway to school, I noticed that the holder that usually sits in the front window for the GPS was missing. Odd. We never take that out of the car. This got me to thinking of the consul being open and the lottery tickets out of place. I opened the consul and dug around while sitting at a red light and discovered that the GPS and my IPod nano were also missing. I looked in the backseat and Case's portable DVD player was still there but yes, the GPS & IPod had been stolen during the night.

I called Jeff and asked if by chance he had removed these things for some reason. Nope. They were stolen. So, for the 2nd time in less than a week we had to call the police and file a report.

Jeff says, "At least they didn't break the window to get the stuff." The good news is that the GPS just stopped working within the last month so we were going to have to replace it anyway, but they still got my IPod.

Right now, my sweet husband is out buying security cameras. Yes, I agree it's extreme. I really don't think the same people broke into our car and stole our milk. I think it was all by chance, but he's determined he's going to catch the thieves by providing their pictures to the cops. We'll see, my dear!

  3. I can't believe I missed reading this post!

So here's my theory: the thieves wanted a movie to watch with their milk, so they stole the GPS to help them find a theater. When they realized it was broken, they came back and took the dvd player instead. Seeing the ipod, they decided that, since they were running away from the car, they might as well have some music.

But at least they didn't take the bouncy castle.
