Memorial Day weekend, we decided to take our new pop-up camper up to the mountains and do some camping. We didn't want to go too far in case Siahna didn't sleep well and we had to pack up during the middle of the night. So, we went about an hour from Denver. While up there, we took a tour of an old Gold Mine in Idaho Springs that we've driven past a million times. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend it. I found it fascinating.

Don't forget the hard hats! We got to walk back into the mine quite a ways. It's amazing that they built these mines without the technology we have today and the conditions they worked under were incredible. What would you do to strike it rich?

This was an old wheel that pumped fresh air into the mines. With all of the digging, exploding and carving they did, it brought up lots of harmful fumes that killed many men and women.
