Name Change

Jeff's middle name is Dean. His dad's middle name is Dean. His grandpa's middle name is Dean. Case Dean Anderson just didn't have quite the ring to it so we went with Case William (after my grandpa) and broke traditional of using Dean in the Anderson family. A few months ago, Jeff said, "What about Case William Dean Anderson?" I liked the sound of that but Case was adamant that that was not his name. We kept using it around him and finally one day when I called him Case William, he told me I said his name wrong and it was Case William Dean. We finally converted him!!! Now we have to go through the process of actually changing his name and apparently that means going to court and standing before a judge! Who knew that adding a second middle name would be so much work! But, at least we can keep the tradition alive for a 4th generation!

  1. Oh I like!! How long of a process is it?

  2. Good for you guys! My parents kind of wished they would have done that with my brother's name. They didn't use a family name and regretted it a bit. Aaron has always liked the idea of two middle names, too.

  3. How embarrassing. For as long as I can remember, I've thought that my Grandpa's middle name was Dean "Howard Dean Anderson". However, I also knew that he didn't go by his first name. So I guess I just always thought that he had two middle names "Ralph Howard Dean Anderson". Turns out, I've been wrong for years. My great Uncle's first name was Dean (which I also knew). So while there are three generations of Deans in my family, the first gen was my great uncle, and not my Grandpa "R Howard Anderson".

    Sorry for the confusion. =)
