The Last Week

I've been behind in my blogging. Here's what's happened in the last week.
Siahna fell off the ladder in the kitchen and gave herself a black eye. It's still black and blue four days later. That girl will be our first broken bone and first trip to the ER.
We had our first parent/teacher conference at Case's preschool. It was a weird feeling to be the parent and not the teacher. He's doing great and has fit right in with the class and kids.
We took a trip up to the mountains. We were supposed to stay overnight but when we went to check in at our hotel I had never actually made the reservation. I don't know how I did that. So, our trip turned into a day trip.
We took Case on his 2nd annual tubing trip at Copper Mountain. Next year Siahna will be big enough to go so we can all go.

We finished our day with a visit to the ice castles.

Last night we participated in our first Lent service and receiving of ashes. To steal the words of our pastor: "Yesterday I received ashes on my head reminding me that I am sinful, human, and broken. This morning I remembered that even though my sins are like scarlet, they will be washed white as snow."

We're finishing out our week by taking the kids to my aunt Lisa's for the night tomorrow night so we can go contra dancing with some friends. I had never heard of contra dancing and had to google it! Super excited for that and thankful that Lisa is willing to take the kids for a night.
